WSOP: EVENT #19: $1.500 NO-LIMIT HOLD’EM
Event #19 of the WSOP goes the Americans. Ted Gilles from Houston, Texas won this poker event. He battled his way through 2.085 other poker players and took home $514.027. This was the second money-finish for Gilles and his first bracelet.
The event lasted 2 days., but the final table was over rather soon. There were 2 Double-KO’s, so the final table was cleared quicker then normal. In one of the hands Dejan Divkovic knocked out 2 players holding Ace-Ace and 10-9 (suited) with King-King after hitting a 4-of-a-kind.
Finally, Ted Gillis ended up heads-up with John Hennigan, after eliminating Dejan Divkovic. Gillis knocked-out Divkovic in a pre-flop all-in. Gilles held Ace-Queen against Divkovic’s Ace-6.
The heads-up went rather quickly as well, but was very exciting nonetheless. Gillis battled Hennigan for 27 hands before beating him. In the final hand Henning had to push all-in (pre-flop), after Gillis raised with Ace-6. Hennigan called with Queen-9, but was not able the beat Gillis hand and Gilles took home a little over $0,5 Million.
