WSOP: EVENT #20: $3.000 NO-LIMIT HOLD’EM SHOOTOUT
A young guy named Kory Kilpatrick won the 20th event of the Word Series of Poker. Kilpatrick, another American form Georgia, battled for 3 days and beat a tough final table and took home $254.891. This is his biggest live-tournament win so far. His other impressive live win was last year. He won a little over $100K at the Hollywood Poker Open. You could say he his doing well financially.
Event #20 had a long and exhausting final table. 10 good poker players remained. All with roughly even chips. It took 80 hands for the first player to exit. This was the beginning op the end. Kilpatrick quickly took the lead and managed to stay there. He took out a couple other players and build up an impressive stack of chips.
Kilpatrick started the heads-up with twice as many chips as his opponent Eric Wasserson. It took Kilpatrick 20 hand to bring in all the chips and be crowned the winner. In the final hand his A-J dominated Wasserson’s J-10 and he could bank another $254K and his first WSOP bracelet. Not bad for someone in his early twenties.
